Weekly recommendation: Book series

If you like longer book series, then this post is perfect for you. This week I'm recommending series with more than 3 books. I don't often read long series. So when I decide to start one, I need to be hooked from the very first book. When I'm not, then it's 99.99% sure that I will never continue that series. These 4 series are totally the best ones ever:

1. LUX series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Genre: young/new adult, romance, aliens, supernatural.
Books in this series: Shadows (prequel), Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, Origin and Opposition.

Synopsis of first book:
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I'd pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring... until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something... unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon's touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I'm getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don't kill him first, that is.

My reviews (clink on the title): Shadows, Obsidian, Onyx, Opal, Origin and Opposition.
There's also a adult spin-off about these books: Obsession!

2. CRUSH series by Lacey Weatherford

Genre: new adult, romance, contemporary.
Books in this series: Crush, Smitten, Love, Smolder.

Synopsis of first book:
Cami Wimberley has a plan, and that plan includes no room for boys—especially the big time party animal, Hunter Wilder, no matter how handsome and charismatic he is. She’s beautiful, a senior, extremely talented, gets good grades, and is working her way toward her dream college to be a musical theater major. Everything is perfect.
Hunter Wilder does not want a girlfriend—that would complicate his life way too much right now. He especially doesn’t want this girl, Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes, so how come he can’t keep his eyes off her? He tries to keep her at arms length, but fate seems to keep pushing them together. Before long, it’s obvious to everyone they’re crushing on each other.
As sparks begin to fly, Hunter finds himself sinking deeper and deeper into hot water. Soon he’s scrambling to keep Cami from discovering his dark secret—one that can destroy their entire relationship

3. WAIT FOR YOU saga by J. Lynn

Genre: new adult, romance, contemporary.
Books in this series: .Wait For You, Trust In Me (novella), Be With Me, The Proposal (novella), Stay With Me.

Synopsis of first book:
Some things are worth waiting for…
Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.
Some things are worth experiencing…
Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.
Some things should never be kept quiet…
But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she’s has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?
And some things are worth fighting for…

My reviews (click on the title): Wait For You, Trust In Me.

Status of this series: Stay With Me has been released on September 23, 2014. There are still three books that need to be published (expected in 2015 and 2016).

4. VAMPIRE ACADEMY series by Richelle Mead

Genre: young adult, romance, vampire, supernatural.
Books in this series: .Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, Last sacrifice.

Synopsis of first book:
St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger. . . .

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.
